He regained his senses. He read it again for 3 to 4 times. He took his hanky and wiped the sweat off his forehead. He thought of what doc said.

“It’s better that you prepare at home. This has caused a lump in your lung. I will give you some medicines and an injection. And this would make you fine

“When I eat outside food, I can get affected with stomach cancer, may be my intestine could get affected, or may be my liver at the worst, but how come lungs? Neither I smoke nor a passive smoker!! Hmmm…Something is going wrong”, he said to himself.

He decided to consult a lung specialist. He googled it and found the address of a ‘good and qualified’ doctor. He registered and took the docs appointment.

“Yes, come in Mr. Sumit.”, the doc said.

“Thanks, Dr. Vydanath. Thanks for your time.”

The doc asked Sumit to breathe & exhale and placed his stethoscope on Sumit’s back.

I have seen your reports. I am OK with the ECG report, but I think I need to take an X-ray.”

“But doc, I gave you the x-ray I took two days back. Won’t that suffice?”

“I do understand Mr.Sumit. I am doing this for your sake. I don’t want to do anything at the risk of my dear patients”

Sumit has nothing more to say. He again underwent an X-ray photo-shoot and finally landed up in the doc’s chamber.

 “Doc, what is my problem?”

“Well…Nothing at all”, he winked his eye at Sumit.

Does docs have this tendency to wink at their patients?”, Sumit thought and he smiled.

“Actually, there was a misconception in your case. There was a muscle that was a bit swollen at your ribs and that’s the reason why you get pain at times. The earlier doctor might have told you that as an inter-mascular joinosiea but he simply said it as a lump. These sort of things happen”

“What about the medicines he gave me, doc?”

“Those were mostly pain killers and nothing much. I will prescribe you a set of tablets and that should make you fine”

“Doctor, Is that all? Do I need to undergo any further tests?

Frankly speaking, it is 99 out of 100 chances that it is a muscle problem. Just check yourself for a month and if you still feel the pain, then you should undergo CT-scan

One month later

“Sumit, can you get me that file on your left?

Yes Ganesh” and he stretched towards his left. He felt a sudden jolt in his ribs followed by a deep pain.

And the life, as they say, moves on!!!
